Plus, what can be said about the white wine, star anise and cinnamon sauce except that it’s pure gold when poured generously on top of those pears? You could even switch the white wine with apple or pear cider if you want. And this roasted pears recipe goes extremely well with almond crumble, a little maple syrup and a few mint leaves. Ingredients Switch to cook mode Metric Imperial Almond crumble (optional) Unsalted butter, melted - 4 teaspoons 20 mL To discover! Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon 15 mL To discover! Preparation Switch to cook mode Almond crumble (optional) Step 1 Preheat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F). Mix all the crumble ingredients. Note: The almond crumble is optional, but is strongly recommended if you want to add a crispy side to your roasted pears dish. Step 2 Cook for 10 to 12 minutes on a baking sheet lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Roasted pears Step 3 Meanwhile, melt the butter in a casserole. Sprinkle icing sugars onto the pears. Step 4 Gently place the pears in the hot butter (cut side down). Caramelize for about 5 minutes. Add the spices. Step 5 Once the pears reach a nice colour and the butter is light brown, deglaze the casserole with white wine. Let reduce by half. Step 6 Cook in the oven for 15 minutes. Step 7 If desired, add vanilla Greek yogurt at the bottom of a shallow dish. Then, transfer the pears onto the yogurt. Pour the reduced wine on top.
